This was the title of the message on Sunday evening, November 27, 2011 at our church. We are preaching through the book of Romans and are now in chapter 7, which contains the well known statement by the Apostle Paul, "For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin."
Most modern Christians take this as their cue to relax about their sin and low living, but this passage of Scripture has been grossly misinterpreted and misrepresented in most modern Christian teaching. It is placed right between Romans 6 and Romans 8, which both describe the Christian life in completely different terms. Obviously, these verses in Romans 7 are hard to be understood if taken out of context.
